Heidi Wildy Heidi Wildy has worked in the health and wellness field for over 17 years and has being teaching Pilates for 9 years. At the Valley of the Sun YMCA, she was voted Outstanding Health and Fitness Director for two years in a row. She received her Master of Science in Exercise and Wellness from Arizona State University and completed her thesis on the effects of Pilates on low back pain. She is a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor, scoring 94% on Stott's challenging exam.
As undergraduate at the University of Rochester, Heidi competed in NCAA cross-country and track. After college, Heidi continued to compete in running and triathlon and has completed several marathons and a half-ironman triathlon. She has finished in the top of her age group in many events and has a marathon PR of just under 3 hours.
Heidi incorporates her athletic background and her extensive knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology into her teaching. She encourages her students to be focused and precise, but also strives to make her classes friendly, fun, and non-intimidating. Even in her group classes, Heidi uses a hands-on with all of her students. She provides individualized instruction to meet each of her student's unique needs and goals.
Over her teaching career, Heidi has worked with pro-athletes, seniors, children, pre- and post natal and individuals dealing with medical or rehabilitation issues. She is able to adapt Pilates to fit almost any ability, need or condition. She keeps abreast of the latest research and attends continuing education classes, conferences and seminars on Pilates to enhance her teaching. She loves to share the latest techniques and research findings with her students. Her goal as an instructor is to continue to meld the art into the science of Pilates and to help her students find the "joy of movement" in their lives and become healthier in body, mind and spirit.
Heidi enjoys spending her free time with her two young sons Troy (age 5) and Leo (age 2), her husband of over 15 years, Marc, and their feisty and friendly kitten, Piston.
Erin Lovrien
Erin Lovrien successfully completed the Ron Fletcher Program of Study in 2010. She has a strong background in understanding movement in the body through years of experience and training as a dancer. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona. Looking for a way to recover from a car accident during college, Erin was drawn to Pilates because it offered a clear way to reorganize her body and rebuild an awareness of the mind-body connection. She currently teaches the Fletcher work in Phoenix and dances professionally with a modern dance company.
Brittany Young
Brittany Young successfully completed the Ron Fletcher Program of Study in August 2011. She also holds a certification in the Fletcher Floorwork levels 1 &2. Brittany received her BFA -Magna Cum Laude in May 2010 from The University of Arizona School of Dance. She is currently a dancer with Conder Dance Company and teaches dance at Plumb Performing Arts in Scottsdale.
After discovering Brittany had a chronic back condition she quickly became engulfed in the Fletcher work, she then knew pilates was the only answer. The work gave her a deeper understanding of the human body and she progressed further she noticed her back pain disappeared. This work saved her life.
Brittany has always had a passion for movement, the human body, and helping others; after having such a life changing experience with this work it has inspired her to help others in the way that this work helped her. Fletcher Pilates® evolves directly from the original method taught to Ron Fletcher by Joe and Clara Pilates. Combining the principles and precision techniques of classic Pilates with his extensive modern dance background, Ron Fletcher developed an organic, flowing and artful series of movements - deeply engaging the body, mind and breath - that are as challenging to perform as they are satisfying to master. Kim Tice
Kim Tice received her Pilates Certification through the PhysicalMind Institute in 2007 and has been teaching Pilates for 3 years. She also became PMA certified in 2010. In addition, she attended the University of South Florida, participating in their modern dance and theater program. She has over 3 decades of experience in the Fitness Industry in addition to being a corporate trainer for 15 years.
Kim has a passion for teaching Pilates. She is eager to share her passion with clients to suit their needs, issues and goals. She strives to provide each client with challenging yet fun workout sessions that will leave them feeling invigorated and refreshed. Pilates is a way of life for Kim and she follows the philosophy from Joseph Pilates. It is an education in body awareness during class as well as after in addition to being an excellent teaching method on how to train your mind and build symmetry and coordination in the body.
